The Pulsifer Undergraduate Career Development Center embraces Career Communities as a model to expand student awareness of the many functional roles, employer organizations and industries that can align with their unique strengths and interests. This holistic approach introduces students to a collaborative ecosystem of a variety of industry professionals, within a learning community, to explore the relevancy and application of classroom knowledge and skills with the needs of the business community.
As the convener of Career Communities, the Pulsifer Undergraduate Career Development Center brings students together with faculty, alumni, parents and friends into learning communities that provide mentorship and connection around similar career interests. Through Career Communities, the Pulsifer Undergraduate Career Development Center aims to develop the eight Career Readiness Competencies defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) http://www.naceweb.org/uploadedfiles/pages/knowledge/articles/career-readiness-fact-sheet.pdf.
The following Career Communities represent industries and functions that align with Bentley curriculum, faculty and student organization partnerships, established career interests and outcomes, alumni and professional networks, labor market trends and market positioning:
- Human Resources
- Professional Sales
- Supply Chain/Operations Management
Career Communities for First-Year Students, Sophomores, and International Students are designed to focus and inform these specific populations of undergraduates about their specialized career education curriculum and engage them in broader and deeper career exploration, assessment of talents and strengths, and job search tool box development.
Students, faculty and staff are welcome to join as many Career Communities as they like!
