The Casualty Actuarial Society is excited to announce that they are officially accepting applications for the 2025 CAS Student Central Summer Program! This free eight-week online program, designed by practicing actuaries, will support students’ career growth by providing technical and soft skills development, as well as mentorship and networking opportunities.
2025 Program Details
The program will run from Monday, June 9 to Friday, August 1. Over the course of eight weeks, participants will gain:
- Technical Expertise: Dive deep into property and casualty actuarial topics – including pricing, reserving, and data visualization – through engaging weekly modules.
- Professional Mentorship: Weekly sessions with experienced actuaries who will guide their learning and career growth.
- Soft Skills Development: Enhance their resume, interview techniques, and professional communication.
- Real-World Experience: Collaborate in a team-base case competition, addressing a real-life actuarial problem with prizes for the winning teams.
Participants will spend approximately 10 to 15 hours a week participating in the program and are expected to attend the program in its eight-week entirety. Presentations and materials will be in English.
For those who reside in the East Asia region – Australia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Thailand, or Vietnam – we offer the CAS Student Central East Asia Summer Program. Designed specifically for students in the area, this program covers key general insurance concepts – including pricing, reserving, predictive analysis, IFRS-17, Insurtech, and more.
For students that are looking for a flexible schedule and have limited capacity to attend live webinars and video conferences, we also offer the CAS Student Central Independent Summer Program, as a self-paced alternative covering the same materials.
Participants who successfully complete the program will be awarded a digital badge from the CAS documenting their achievement. Students interested in the Mentor-led, East Asia, or Independent Summer Programs should submit an application form by April 11.
