Through our “Furnish Your Future” intern development program, you will kick off your career by learning the ins-and-outs of an innovative HR department in the retail industry. Learning and gaining human resources experience, such as helping with recruiting, onboarding, the employee experience, and analyzing people data, will be your primary focus in this role. You will also learn about our entire business through Tuesday Talks with leaders from each business unit, Wednesday Workshops to elevate your development, and have some fun along the way with our Intern cohort by experiencing Jordan’s “shoppertainment”.
Our ideal candidate is currently a rising college junior or senior enrolled in a human resources or business administration degree program. Human Resources Intern Duties and Responsibilities
- Use your creativity and out of the box thinking to help us reimagine the J-Team employee experience
- Lead a project that will drive HR operational efficiency, such as creating a playbook for new store expansion and/or enhancing our driver experience through the entire employee life cycle
- Assist with implementation of a paperless file system and job description database
- Coordinate and assist with our employee wellness programs
- Gain valuable recruiting experience by posting job listings on job boards and social media platforms, screening potential candidates, and onboarding our newest employees
Human Resources Intern Requirements and Qualifications
- Rising college junior or senior currently pursuing a degree in human resources or business administration
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Prior retail, HR or customer service experience a plus
