In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the business development and M&A team in identifying and exploring new growth opportunities for the company. You will conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and identify potential partners and clients. You will also assist in developing business proposals and presentations and work with the team to implement new business initiatives. As an Investment Banking Summer Analyst, you also complete proposals for potential clients and build decks with potential targets our clients can merge with or acquire. You will analyze financial data and contracts to communicate the value we can provide to the client. In this role, you will learn how to prepare for first-touch meetings with clients and remain in contact with the client from open to close. Equiturn utilizes multiple cutting-edge software to give you the tools to help you find and research clients. The primary elements you will be exposed to at Equiturn will be finance topics, M&A topics, management consulting topics, client interaction, research, development of projects, and networking.
TASKS:
- Using web tools, search engines, and other methods, identify companies in the lower middle market in industries with high M&A activity such as Healthcare, Telecommunications, Software & Tech, Staffing, Home Services, and Logistics.
- Identify targets for outreach and qualify them by their revenue size (Targeting companies generating $15M-$100M in revenue).
- Once leads are qualified, conduct further research and analysis to compile detailed information on your lead and their business to determine the most effective method of outreach that will gain their interest.
- Create a short (1-2 slide) presentation about the potential client and your research to brief management on the lead and the strategy to close them.
- Conduct initial outreach via Email, Phone, Linkedin, or In-person to set up a formal meeting where we will conduct the pitch.
- Use an email sending software (Salesloft) to conduct outreach to leads for our three departments (M&A, Capital Sourcing, Management Consulting).
- Set up meetings with leads to better understand their business while determining how Equiturn’s services can accelerate their growth.
- Create proposals for clients that fit their goals and parameters.
- Discuss proposals with clients and advise on the next steps.
- Build relationships with clients.
- Brainstorm ideas with the sales team about new sales avenues and lead generation
- Understand our services to communicate the most value to our customers.
- Get hands-on experience on how to pitch, close, negotiate, and deliberate with a client.
- Utilize cutting-edge sales software to find and research leads.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Current full-time student at an accredited university or college.
