The Public Relations Intern will be responsible for assisting the Town of Canton Executive Office in managing and disseminating information to the public in order to enhance awareness and understanding of town government policies and procedures. The Executive Office consists of Town Administrator; Town Council; Town Planner; and Human Resources.
Primary Responsibilities:

- Craft media releases
- Develop social media content
- Liaise with town staff to prioritize and develop content
- Monitor external social media
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing; organizing conference calls; preparing presentation materials; taking meeting minutes; etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a four-year college or university
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to think critically and work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
This is an unpaid internship. Students are encouraged to apply for academic credits and/or stipends from their respective institutions.
