Get a LinkedIn Course recommendation based on your Major

If you are on CareerEdge frequently, you may know that all Bentley students can access LinkedIn Learning! LinkedIn Learning is LinkedIn’s learning platform with various courses where you can access thousands of classes and have your work featured on your LinkedIn profile. We’ve frequently talked about LinkedIn Learning, so if you want to check out other benefits, you can check out this blog post! But with various courses, it can take time to pinpoint where to start, so here are some courses you can start with, depending on your major!

Finance & Accounting – “Excel for Corporate Finance Professionals”

Because you will always use these in your corporate life, this course by Michael McDonald will not only be a refresher for topics previously seen in Excel-focused classes, but it will also let you perform tasks more oriented to your major, like cost of capital. You will also be able to learn formulas that you are bound to use in your everyday tasks.

Marketing, Liberal Arts, & Creative Industries – “Content Creation: Strategy and Tools”

Navigating social media is more impactful than ever. Thus, it is vital to understand how it works, what makes content or breaks it, and how to successfully transmit a message to a global audience. Joanna Yung’s class aims to teach you how to improve your posts and content creation and emphasize the importance of clear visual and written communication with your audience.

Business Administration, Management, & Managerial Economics “Employee Experience in a Hybrid Business World”

Remote work has undoubtedly risen in popularity since the early start of the decade, but what will this mean for company and client relations, and how can you ensure everything runs smoothly regardless of modality? Sesil Pir will instruct you on all these aspects in this course and how to create meaningful relationships with the people you see on and off the screen.

Actuarial Science & Computer Information Systems – “Python Data Analysis”

Michele Vallisneri will give you a rundown of Python techniques you can incorporate into your coursework and an introduction to how data science and other fields use Python to run important information. The course will also give you real-life examples outside of word problems, allowing you to understand how data analysis plays out in real life.

Of course, this blog does not exclude you from exploring other classes (even outside of your major or current Bentley coursework!), but it is a good starting point if you are unsure what courses suit you best. Thankfully, LinkedIn Learning will also recommend lessons based on your input to your profile. Happy learning!
