How to Make an Appointment With Your Career Advisor

With the semester almost coming to an end, you may want to schedule an appointment with a career advisor before break. Winter break is the perfect time to apply for jobs as you may have a lot of time on your hands without classes. With this time, it is a good idea to make sure your resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, and Handshake profile are ready to be seen by recruiters.

The first step to meeting with a career coach is to find one that is an expert in the field you are majoring in or if you are not declared, one you are interested in. All career coaches are experts in their field, so no matter who you meet with, you will be getting top-notch support!

If you are a junior or senior, you can make an appointment with your dedicated career coach. Here are the steps to do this:

  1. Open up the Bentley University page on Handshake, click here.
  2. You will then click on appointments
  3. Click on schedule new appointment and choose your coach
  4. Choose an appointment type that best suits your needs
  5. Click on a date and time that works for you
  6. Confirm!

Before meeting with your designated career coach, make sure to have your questions ready. You should make the most of your time, so come prepared for the meeting!

Meeting with your career coach has many benefits and will help you be prepared while applying for jobs. It is important that all your documents are error-free and showcase all your successes while applying for different positions.
