The non-profit and public policy communities might represent a wide breadth of groups, but their goals are similar: international organization and improving well-being.  These groups can be collections of different nations or interest groups or even just industry leaders.

This area can be a large passion for many people, even if not in this community.  Check out these resources to either explore your interests, or keep up with international affairs:

Journal: Nonprofit Quarterly

This journal is released by an experienced group of professionals who are all passionate about disrupting the civil sector to improve society as a whole.  The journal uses different types of media to voice the ideas and concerns of other thought leaders and pioneers

Book: Forces for Good: The Six Practices of High-Impact Nonprofits (J-B US non-Franchise Leadership) by Leslie Crutchfield

This book really questions what makes a positive social impact on society.  With research that spanned over many years, the author provides suggestions on strategies on how to approach making a social change.  Creating a positive social change can be difficult, but this book a is a great place to look for inspiration.

Video Channel: Rainforest Alliance

This YouTube channel is a great visualization of what a successful non-profit organization The Rainforest Alliance focuses on how to improve our current rainforce protection, rather than profiting off of the public image of the illusion of preservation, which truly exemplifies a successful non-profit.
