Online Presence is More Than Social Media.

Entering the world of creative industries has it’s challenges.  Positions are generally found through networking, a majority of internships are unpaid, excelling at grunt work is required and working hard to create and maintain an online or digital presence is necessary.  When coaching students about a career path in this industry, most know what it means to network and work hard, however, the idea of creating an online portfolio usually leads to the most perplexed looks.  Creating an online portfolio or personal website may seem daunting for students.  Usually they don’t even know what this is.  They usually want to know why their social media presence isn’t enough or they may ask the question “Isn’t this information already on LinkedIn?”.  So if you are still unsure as to why this is necessary and you have a desire or passion to work in a creative industry, I recommend clicking on the link below for more information.
