We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent people and communication skills to join our comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory team. Our wealth management firm has a growing base of “fee only” high net worth clients who we serve on a continuous basis. We nurture relationships by working with clients and guiding them through their financial life as well as respond to changes in their lives by building an individualized plan that is right for them.
The financial planning associate will help support our Senior Financial Planners in completing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: updating/preparing client allocations, asset allocation analysis, investment research and meeting preparation. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for several administrative tasks (filing, shredding, mailings).
This position will allow for the opportunity to sit in on investment research meetings and other firm meetings and learn the investment business first hand. Daily tasks will vary widely. Interns will be expected to manage and complete multiple projects in a timely manner. We are a small office and all work very closely. Our interns are exposed to all aspects of the financial planning profession and have direct access to all members of our team.
A successful candidate will be hard working, detail oriented, organized and a problem solver with strong communication skills, as well as a keen interest in investments and wealth management. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt to new technology and procedures are crucial. The candidate should enjoy working in a team environment but also must self-motivated and be able to work independently. Highest degree of professionalism, integrity and honesty required.
The candidate must be a junior, senior, or graduate student, working towards their Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Financial Planning. Previous experience in wealth management/financial planning is preferred but not required. A candidate with ability to work meaningful hours (20+ per week) during the Spring semester also preferred. This position is onsite in our office (not remote or hybrid) and vaccination is required. Must have reliable transportation as our office is located in Wellesley, MA (no public transportation).
