The MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund Program is hiring a part-time Communications and Program Intern who will work on communications and event planning for MIT Sandbox partnerships in Africa. The includes supporting the partnership with the UM6P Explorer program in Morocco, which was developed in collaboration MIT Sandbox.
The Communications and Program Intern will collaborate with the MIT Sandbox Director of Partnerships. The intern will:
– Plan and implement website communications that raise awareness to current and prospective students as well a potential funding partners
– Provide communications and program management support to ensure a successful, semi-annual Showcase event featuring student teams (virtual in spring 2021)
– Develop collateral highlighting MIT Sandbox partnerships
– Assist in ongoing program management, via Survey Monkey Apply system, Google sheets, and other tools, to effectively track and manage applications and student teams
Start date: Immediately
Timeframe: 3-6 months, this will be discussed during an interview
Hours: 20-30/week
Pay: $15/hour
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a strong interest in communications and some website experience, ideally with a CMS; be experienced with Google-suite tools, including Google sheets and Google docs; and must be comfortable learning new technology as needed.
We are looking for a self-starter who is interested in joining the Sandbox team, learning about entrepreneurship, and making an immediate impact. Important to be detail oriented and able to take on multiple projects and keep them moving forward.
Sophomores and above are welcome to apply. Prefer IDCC majors but open to other majors with relevant experience and interest.
