Jetzy is looking for an energetic, curious, and driven Public Relations Intern. The Public Relations Intern is responsible for assisting management in the building and sustaining of the company’s brand. This internship is heavily focused on electronic media including blogging, social media, and e-communications. You will be involved in developing an ongoing PR plan, creating media lists, researching media opportunities, writing pitches and press releases, conducting media relations, monitoring media, supporting our social media campaigns, and more. The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter with superb communication skills.
This is an opportunity that will help you gain experience working in a fast-paced tech startup/social media company and increase hands-on experience in its operations, including how to coordinate and implement PR strategies at various stages. The intern should be full of creative ideas and eager to contribute on a large scale. The intern will gain visibility into the multi-disciplinary tasks and aspects of the public relations field, provide concrete deliverables and learn from top to bottom.
-Develop and contribute to public relations activities including publicity strategies, campaigns, press releases, etc.
-Create a list of relevant journalists, bloggers, and influencers and proactively reach them to get the word out for Jetzy
-Deal with inquiries from the public, the press, and related organizations
-Coordinate with news media as assigned, in the development of appropriate news stories
-Maintain tracking report of public relations activity
-Excellent communication skills in written, oral, and social media
-Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques & methods
-Strong computer skills and a basic understanding of the Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and social media
-Creativity, ambition, and a strong work ethic
-Self-starter motivated individual
-Strong organizational skills
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment
-Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
-Superior problem-solving skills – must be resourceful and creative with solutions
-Must be available to start within a week or two
