Professional organizations are great ways to get involved in the industries and types of roles that are of interest to you. There are many professional organizations in this area that Bentley works closely with such as the Network of Executive Women (NEW) and MITX with its marketing focused organization, BIMA. I just returned from the Actuarial Summit at The Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester, MA. The purpose was to educate students about the profession, the career path and the culture of The Hanover. Three Bentley students attended  along with students from UConn, Bryant, Holy Cross, Assumption and WPI.
