Cassandra Layman

I am a senior majoring in Marketing with a concentration in Professional Sales and Information Design and Corporate Communications. As a Student Director here at Bentley Career Services, I supervise and manage our Career Colleague teams: Undergraduate Career Colleagues, CareerEdge, and Think Tank Colleagues. In working closely with the director of the Career Colleague Program, I ensure the management, supervision, training, and organization of these student leaders so that they are able to provide high quality career assistance to students of all majors. Here at Bentley, we are proud to be ranked #5 by the Princeton Review for the Best Job Placement/Career Services out of 4,000 universities in the U.S.

Two years ago, I started at Career Services as a CareerEdge intern, which is our platform used for promoting jobs, campus events, and career-related blogs. I have been heavily involved in promoting Bentley events and jobs on CareerEdge and on the Career Services social media platforms in order to help students achieve their dream job. In joining the Career Services team, I have enjoyed taking our program to the next level, growing our presence on campus, and further promoting student participation in campus events and career opportunities.

At Bentley, I am also a campus Ambassador, Vice President of the Bentley Marketing Association, and Co-Founder and President of the Bentley Tennis Club. Also, I was the first and only Bentley student to study abroad at Leiden University in the Netherlands during the fall semester of last year. While abroad, I learned Dutch and spent time in Prague, the Czech Republic; Berlin, Germany; Zurich, Switzerland; and Ventimiglia, Italy.

With all that I have learned and experienced at Bentley, especially through my new role at Career Services, I hope to pursue a career in marketing and sales with a focus on technology, new product development, and innovation.

If you have any questions or suggestions about our new Career Colleague Program at Bentley Career Services, I’d be delighted to talk to you!
