Final Summer Check-In: Recruiting Is Here – Are You Ready?

Finance, Corporate Finance & Accounting, and FinTech Students,

We are now in early August and recruiting is officially underway. Many firms have already started posting roles, reviewing applications, and moving quickly through early stages of the process. At this point, the focus shifts from preparation to execution.

The question now is simple: are you ready to apply?

📌 WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING RIGHT NOW:

If you are completing an internship this summer, your resume should now include clear, results-oriented bullets that reflect your actual contributions and impact – not just responsibilities. This is what employers are looking for.

🏢 NEED FEEDBACK? NOW IS THE TIME.

If you’ve put in the work, schedule an appointment with us for a resume review. This is a collaborative process – we’re happy to help you refine your resume. Availability is still relatively open, but that will change quickly as we get closer to the semester. You’ll be glad to check this off your to-do list before the semester begins.

📣 RECRUITING IS ACTIVE – AND TIMING MATTERS

At this point, many roles are already open and more will continue to post over the coming weeks.

Stated deadlines are not guarantees. Most recruiting operates on a rolling basis, meaning applications are reviewed as they come in and positions may be filled well before the posted deadline. Some roles may close early once enough candidates have applied.

Your strategy should be simple: apply early and apply consistently. Being among the first applicants can still make a meaningful difference.

🔔 STAY RESPONSIVE AND INFORMED:

  • Follow companies on LinkedIn (and consider following key recruiters)
  • Subscribe to “Talent Communities” or mailing lists on company websites
  • Follow companies on Handshake

These channels help you see roles as soon as they are posted, not after they’ve been open for days or weeks.

The summer is nearly over and recruiting is moving quickly. The students who stay organized, apply early, and act consistently now will be in the strongest position heading into the fall.
