Hot Opportunity Alert! Summer Opportunity for Undergrads – Georgetown Data Science Corps Now Accepting Applications

The Data Science Corps program at Georgetown University is sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The program consists of a 6-week in-person research experience on the Georgetown University campus in Washington, DC, followed by a fall remote component. Participants will consist of a mix of undergraduate students and high school teachers, who will work together in small teams on data science research problems. They will be exposed to the challenges and approaches of working with large-scale heterogeneous and complex real-world data, from their acquisition, storage, and pre-processing to their analysis and interpretation. Trainees will have the opportunity to listen to lectures from interdisciplinary faculty, receive relevant training, work on research projects, and practice their presentation skills. 

The 6-week in-person component will run from June 20th to August 1st, 2026. Participants will have a break on July 3rd in observance of Independence Day. The required fall remote component will consist of monthly online meetings from September to December 2026. 

Students will receive a $3,600 stipend, on-campus housing, a $1,000 meal stipend, and up to $500 in travel reimbursement for the summer. After their participation in the fall remote experience, they will receive an additional $500 stipend. 

This program is a great opportunity for current sophomores and juniors who are majoring in ( or are interested in ) data science, mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
