Don’t miss the 18th Annual Travelers Actuarial Case Competition

Travelers would like to invite Bentley University students to their 18th Annual Actuarial Case Competition.

This year’s Travelers Case Competition will once again be held in a completely virtual environment and will include a $250 award distributed via student account for the top five students!  In addition to the scholarships, the top scoring 25-30 students will all be invited to Travelers’ Under the Umbrella Day.

The case competition portion will include individual case work, a kickoff event to discuss the case and opportunities to check in with Travelers employees throughout the work period. Students should be able to complete all work in four to six hours, and will submit their work via Google Drive.  Students should work on the case individually without assistance from a professor or peers in order to get the most out of the experience.

The case competition will begin on Monday, Feb. 2, and all work and answers are due by Thursday, February 12th. At the conclusion of this case work period, there will be a virtual wrap-up meeting on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, to discuss how Travelers employees would approach the case and formally announce the top scoring students.

Once the top scoring students are announced from the individual portion, Travelers will invite them to our Under the Umbrella Day, a virtual event to be held on Friday, Feb. 27. During this event, students will participate in job shadows, career panels, and networking sessions with Travelers’ employees. This event is a great opportunity to learn more about Travelers, the P&C Industry, and the Actuary’s role within an insurance company.

Linked below is the registration link for students to fill out. Please note that the target audience for this event includes all freshmen/sophomore students attending US-based colleges, as well as all college students without a prior actuarial experience/internship. Registration is due by 11:59 p.m. CST on Friday, Jan. 30. Depending on the number of registrants, space may be limited. They will close the survey to new registrations if they hit capacity.
