Inside Bentley’s Business Fraternities: Advice and Insights from the Presidents

I had the opportunity to interview the current presidents of Bentley’s two business fraternities—Alpha Kappa Psi (AKΨ) and Delta Sigma Pi (ΔΣΠ)—and hear their stories, advice, and what these organizations truly mean to them. Whether you’re considering rushing, looking for a supportive professional community, or simply curious about how these fraternities impact student life and success, their words offer powerful insight into what it’s really like to be part of one.

Meet Gempur – President of Alpha Kappa Psi (AKΨ)

Name: Gempur
Class Year: 2026
Major/Minor: Computer Information Systems with a minor in Cybersecurity
Role: President of Alpha Kappa Psi

Gempur’s path into AKPsi began with a desire to grow—personally and professionally. As a first-generation Asian American student, he shared that professional development wasn’t something he had access to growing up. But when friends encouraged him to check out AKPsi’s rush events, he stepped outside his comfort zone, and that moment changed everything.

“I wanted to take charge of my professional development and meet more people on campus. After receiving a bid, I’ve never looked back.”

On professional growth:
Gempur credits AKPsi for equipping him with key strategies for interviews, networking, and presenting himself with confidence.

“Before AKPsi, I struggled to balance being authentic with being professional. But through workshops, support from our alumni network, and experience as President, I’ve found my voice and grown so much.”

Meet Aldo – President of Delta Sigma Pi (ΔΣΠ)

Name: Aldo
Class Year: 2025
Major/Minor: Marketing with a minor in Sports Management
Role: President of Delta Sigma Pi

Aldo’s journey with DSP began from a similar place: seeking out a support system in a professional environment his family wasn’t familiar with. After attending DSP recruitment events his freshman year, he was struck by how genuine and accomplished the brothers were.

“It felt like exactly what I needed to grow beyond my comfort zone.”

On professional growth:
Delta Sigma Pi opened new doors for Aldo. From internships and networking to feedback and leadership, his experience has been transformative.

“Before DSP, I didn’t have the confidence to articulate my value in professional spaces. Being in this fraternity helped me gain that, especially through alumni mentorship and practice opportunities. And as President, I’ve learned how to lead with vision and purpose.”

How These Fraternities Support Their Members

Both presidents emphasized how their organizations foster a strong, supportive environment that’s academic, professional, and deeply personal.

🔹 Academic support includes study groups, shared resources, and helping each other stay accountable.

🔹 Professional development happens through resume workshops, mock interviews, alumni connections, and honest feedback.

🔹 Community and brotherhood are the glue that holds everything together—creating a space where members are encouraged to grow, challenge themselves, and help each other rise.

“We don’t just validate each other—we push each other to grow,” Aldo shared.

Looking Ahead

Both Gempur and Aldo hope their fraternities continue expanding opportunities and becoming places where students from all backgrounds feel welcome and empowered.

“I want AKPsi to remain a space for students to gain the confidence they need to thrive in the professional world,” Gempur said.
“And I hope DSP continues to be a family away from home,” Aldo added.
