When you hear the words “business fraternity” or “professional organization,” it’s easy to assume it’s just another thing to pad your résumé. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned at Bentley University, it’s that these groups offer far more than bullet points for your LinkedIn.
At a place like Bentley, where everyone is driven and ambitious, it’s easy to feel like you’re constantly competing. But within a business fraternity or organization, that pressure turns into support. You’re surrounded by students who share your interests but also want to help you grow. Whether it’s through interview prep, resume reviews, or simple pep talks before career fairs, these groups act like your built-in support system.
Here at Bentley, we’re lucky to have two standout business fraternities:
📈 Delta Sigma Pi (DSP) – A co-ed professional fraternity focused on developing principled business leaders, offering career resources, networking opportunities, and a strong alumni network.
📊 Alpha Kappa Psi (AKPsi) – One of the oldest and largest professional business fraternities in the country, known for its leadership development and focus on lifelong brotherhood and business excellence.
Both organizations are active on campus, hosting events, workshops, and speaker panels that help you grow beyond the classroom. You’ll learn how to market yourself, speak with confidence, and work collaboratively in ways that mirror the real world. And because they’re student-led, you can take on leadership roles that truly matter.
If you’re on the fence about joining a business fraternity or professional organization, I’d say go for it. You don’t have to be the loudest in the room or know exactly what you want to do yet. These groups are where you figure it out, together.
✨ And next week, we’ll be releasing two special blog posts where we asked the presidents of both Delta Sigma Pi and Alpha Kappa Psi a set of thoughtful questions about their organizations. They’ve shared honest, inspiring insights about what makes their fraternity unique and why it might be the right fit for you.
