Study Abroad to Enhance Your Learning at Bentley University

In today’s interconnected world, global experience is more valuable than ever, especially for business majors. At Bentley University, students have access to a wide range of study abroad programs that offer immersive learning experiences, helping them develop a global mindset while gaining hands-on business exposure. Whether you’re looking for a semester-long adventure or a short-term experience, Bentley has programs designed to fit every student’s needs.

Studying abroad offers business students the chance to:

  • Develop a Global Perspective: Understanding different markets, economies, and cultural business practices is essential for future business leaders.
  • Expand Your Network: Meeting students, professors, and professionals from around the world creates valuable global connections.
  • Gain Hands-On Experience: Many study abroad programs include internships, company visits, or real-world business projects.
  • Enhance Career Prospects: Employers value candidates with international experience, as it demonstrates adaptability, cultural awareness, and problem-solving skills.

Semester & Summer Study Abroad Programs

Bentley partners with universities worldwide, allowing students to study abroad for a full semester or summer session. Students can take business-related courses, explore new cultures, and even complete internships abroad. These programs are a great option for those who want a more immersive experience while staying on track with their degree requirements.

Faculty-Led International Courses (FLP)

For those who want an international experience without committing to a full semester abroad, Bentley offers Faculty-Led International Courses, intensive, 3-credit study abroad experiences during semester breaks.

On these programs, Bentley professors lead students on immersive learning experiences in regions where they have expertise. Unlike traditional study abroad, FLP courses combine classroom learning with real-world engagement, such as company visits, NGO partnerships, and cultural activities. This format provides students with unique access to business professionals and organizations they wouldn’t typically encounter as tourists.

FLP courses run for 7 to 12 days during January break, Spring break, or May (after final exams), allowing students to gain international experience without missing a full semester.

This Spring Break, I’ll be participating in the FLP program in Brazil as part of the course MG 444: Doing Business in Emerging Markets. I’m excited to share more about my experience after the trip—stay tuned! 😁
