Manage CareerEdge Alerts The Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge (MECC) regional competition, which will be held at UMass Amherst on April 6th – the most exciting Excel Esports competition of the year!
This in-person event is a can’t-miss opportunity for students to demonstrate their Excel skills and compete at the highest level across Varsity and Junior Varsity challenges! This is more than just a competition – it’s a chance for your students to shine in four action-packed Excel Esports cases, ranging from speed challenges to advanced data analysis and visualization! Whether they’re just starting out or already Excel experts, there’s a place for everyone to compete, earn badges, learn, and have fun.
📃 The Regional Competition will have:
- Challenges: Four 30-minute cases for the students to compete, covering various Excel skills like speed, lookups, data referencing, analysis, formatting, and data visualization.
- Junior Varsity and Varsity Levels: The competition will have two difficulty levels; Junior Varsity for beginners, and Varsity for the more advanced Excel athletes.
- Winners: There will be individual prices for completing cases, and the best 3 individuals from each school will form a team eligible for an award and a chance to advance to the MECC Team Semi-Finals.
- Speakers: We will be bringing top voices in the Excel community to share experiences and knowledge with students. FinanceBro along with Ficycle will be there to share a lot of Excel awesomeness with you.
- Networking: Have your students meet their peers beyond your campus and foster long lasting connections!

- 🌟 The top 3 players in the Online Regional Winners’ Battle on May 10 will secure direct entry to the MECC Semi-Finals in December in Las Vegas. Talk about an epic prize!
- 👑 The top Varsity team from each region will qualify for the MECC Team Semi-Finals in Las Vegas!
- An MECC badge for completing challenges and other opportunities to earn certificates await!
