What to Do After the Career Fair: Key Steps to Take

Sometimes after the Career Fair, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. You’ve spoken to so many people, delivered your elevator pitch multiple times, and navigated a crowd full of other candidates, which can make you feel anxious and exhausted. To help you manage these feelings, here are some tips and tricks from our Career Coaches at the Pulsifer Career Development Center on what to do after the Bentley 2024 Career Fair.

  • Send Thank-You Emails

Within 24-48 hours of the fair, send personalized thank-you emails to the recruiters you spoke with. This simple gesture reflects professionalism and helps you stay memorable.

  • Organize Your Contacts and Notes

After the event, sort through the business cards, notes, and brochures you collected. To stay organized

  • Connect on LinkedIn

A great way to maintain professional relationships is through LinkedIn. Send connection requests to recruiters you met and personalize the invitation.

  • Apply to Open Positions

Use the insights you gained from the fair to refine your applications. If recruiters mentioned specific roles, apply promptly

  • Prepare for Interviews with “BIG INTERVIEW”

Some employers may contact you for interviews soon after the fair. Start preparing with the BIG Interview. Big Interview gives you both a “FAST TRACK” and “MASTERY TRACK” systems of lessons and virtual interview practice and it’s a 24/7 system that allows you to prepare and practice for video and in person interviews, any time you want or need!

  • Reflect on Your Experience & Be Proud

Take time to evaluate what went well at the fair and areas for improvement.

Remember, each career fair is a learning experience. Even if you didn’t land a job or internship right away, you’re building the skills and connections that will help you in the long run. Be Proud of your progress and stay motivated for future opportunities.
