New Leadership Massachusetts Summer Institute

A Political and Policy Leadership Training Program for MA Undergraduate Women or gender expansive individuals

The Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy (CWPPP) at UMass Boston will be hosting its third New Leadership Massachusetts Summer Institute, a political leadership training program for college students and recent high school and college graduates, who identify as women or gender expansive individuals on June 5-7, 2024 (virtually on 6/5-6 and on-campus on 6/7).  We also welcome their allies.

At NEW Leadership™ MA, undergraduate students who study or reside in MA learn about politics and public leadership from experienced women and gender expansive individuals in the world of municipal and state level politics and policy. The program was developed more than 20 years ago by the Center for American Women in Politics at Rutgers University and has been proven to inspire young women to become more civically engaged. New Leadership Massachusetts teaches women, gender expansive individuals, and their allies the importance of translating individual action into public policy and helps them understand the connection between politics, policy, and the issues that are of interest to them. This program is open to all majors, and we have had a diverse set of students apply and be accepted into the program. Please find the application here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YQ93L62. (APPLY BY MAY 22)
