Freshen Up During A SuperDay: How?

SuperDays are often LONG. You usually have to get to an office early in the morning and interview for hours on end, typically in formalwear. At the same time, you want to make the absolute best impression and probably land that role, since SuperDays can be the last step for candidates to complete at many companies. So how do you best prepare for a full day of actively interviewing while looking and feeling your best? You need to make sure you plan in advance and have some toiletries on hand the day of, here’s what to bring.

Essentials to bring to a SuperDay:

  • A briefcase or professional bag
  • A padfolio with notes
  • Copies of your resume
  • Deodorant
  • Dry shampoo
  • Mints or gum (gum may be more difficult to conveniently dispose of)
  • Possibly a change of shoes or bandaids for after the SuperDay if you’re wearing uncomfortable footwear

Because SuperDays usually span through lunchtime, you will have ample time to have bathroom breaks, drink some water, and maybe even eat. However, you will definitely want to check your outfit and how you look after lunch or even after your first interview.

Interviews are stressful and can cause you to get nervous or sweaty. That’s why it’s super important to have deodorant and dry shampoo with you so that you are able to look and smell clean all day long. Both of these items are easy to store and can really help you out in a pinch. Remember, it’s commonplace to not wear strong scents such as perfumes or colognes to interviews, so clean smells of dry shampoo and a simple deodorant would fit right in. If you don’t have enough space for both items, just bring deodorant because you can use that for other things, such as rubbing it on your heel to prevent blisters if you’re wearing uncomfortable shoes, for example.

Finally, the most important part of your SuperDay prep is the content of your interviews. Make sure you are mentally prepared for many interviews, conversations, and connections. Keep a list of goals and points to not forget in your padfolio and make sure to refer back to them throughout the day to keep centered and centered during the interviews. Additionally, make sure to take breaks when they are offered to you, drink water, and also connect and discuss with other candidates if there are opportunities in group settings. As stressful as they are, SuperDays can be a fun and exciting experience, so make the most of it!
