Are certifications important? What should I be certified in? Do employers care about certifications? These are good questions I have heard from students. I’m hear to tell you these are worth exploring. In fact, some companies might require that you have earned a specific certification to be considered for employment. These can also help you stand out when asked to demonstrate your intellectual curiosity and passion for the industry.
While some classes include an industry related certification in their curriculum, there are many more out there to consider earning. The American Marketing Association has some great offerings on their website. Certifications in Digital Marketing, Marketing Management and Sales Management among others are there for the taking. There is a fee to earn these certifications and cost ranges from $249 upwards of $3500 for longer term programs.
