Advice from the CareerEdge Team

The CareerEdge team is a group of students on campus who work within the Undergraduate Career Services Office. Since the team works daily with everything and anything career related, they are a great source of advice because they have seen the good, the bad and the ugly, when it comes to your career. Here are a few pieces of advice each team member wanted to share with the larger Bentley community:

“It’s never too late to be what you might have been so when you are thinking about your career remember to take every opportunity that gets you one step closer to finding your professional passions.”

-Yasmeen Alwani, Major: Finance Minor: International Affairs

“Don’t be afraid to reach out to alumni on LinkedIn who are in positions that you aspire to hold.  Ask them questions on how they made it to where they are today and the path to achieve your goals.”

-Bella Capone, Major: Marketing

“Take advantage of all opportunities presented to you, even if they don’t align with your plan. Some of the best learning experiences happen when you least expect them, so it’s important to keep an open mind.”

-Kristen Novit, Major: Marketing and Media Arts & Society

“Don’t get so caught up in how much you want a job that you forget what you are actually looking for in a position and in your career.”

-Abby Springfield, Major: Marketing

“Apply to as many positions as possible. Be picky when you have offers.”

-Rachel Linehan, Major: Actuarial Science
