Recently, I was meeting with a college senior who is preparing to graduate and start their new job. The student was seeking any advice I could offer about how to manage those first few days and weeks in their new position. That got me thinking about the early days in my first position out of college. I remember experiencing a wide range of emotions such as anxiety and excitement, the thought of I cannot fail at this or the ever present butterflies in the stomach. Progressing through a new chapter in your life is challenging, exciting and frankly normal. It’s important to remember you earned this opportunity.
