Good to Great Elevator Pitch…What Does it Take?

What does it take to go from good to great with your elevator pitch? Well, it takes you being self-aware and believing in what you are sharing about yourself. You also need to take an inventory of your skills (talents) and business knowledge (important kernels of information that will be relevant to the industry of interest), and you need to present your UNIQUE self.

The beauty of human nature is that we are all different, which is a good thing when it comes to sharing information about ourselves! Think about all the students who are interviewing without taking under consideration their self-inventory. Do they have a unique value proposition? More importantly, do you?

Bentley students can surely surpass much of their competition by simply taking the time to reflect on their self-assessment results. How and when can that reflection take place? A great starting place is in CDI 101, 201 and 301. It is also beneficial to go one step further and take time to reflect on your own, or with the help of your dedicated career coach!

Within the self-assessment process, you are putting your talents, interests and knowledge under a microscope. Then, you are probing deeper to see what more you can uncover about YOU! It is SO important to do all of this when you are finding your value proposition.
