The New Kid on Campus: Bentley’s Data Analytics Major

It’s no secret that Data Analytics is a hot topic. Major companies are using data and analytics to reshape their industries and change the way we learn, watch, listen, shop, and communicate. Data analytics is being used by every industry (business, government, athletes, non-profit organizations, etc.) to create more efficient predictions of risk and opportunities. The need for professionals in this area is continuing to grow- and the ability to work with numbers and data is critical to the modern workforce.

Enter, Bentley’s new Data Analytics major. Introduced this fall, the curriculum is a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science- created to prepare you for this emerging field. But what do careers look like for a Data Analytics major? According to Glassdoor, ‘Data Scientist’ ranked #1 in their report of ‘Best Jobs in America’ based on number of job openings, salary, and overall job satisfaction. While many of these roles require a few years of experience, there is no denying this overall job trend. Some examples of entry level jobs for new grads in the space include Data and Information Analyst, Research Analyst, Business Analyst, Junior Data Analyst, and the list goes on.

Are you a current Business Analytics major curious as to what you should be focusing on this year to land you that summer internship or full-time role? Then RSVP via BentleyLink & join me on Friday, September 7th at 12pm in the CIS Sandbox for the CIS/Data Analytics Kickoff Event!
