How to Do What You Love Everyday

A new year is here, and change is in the air. Many look at the first of the year as a time for new beginnings and new pathways on the journey of life. Out with the mundane routine of last year, and on to newer, life-changing events. What an exciting time this is! Maybe you are one who is looking to switch up the way things have been by acquiring a new career path. Perhaps this is the year you’ve decided to lay it all on the line and begin the career of your dreams. If this is you, read on to uncover tips that will assist you on the journey to waking up everyday satisfied with the life you chose.

Accept your past, then let it go

Everything you have done in life has led you to this very moment whether you are happy with it or not. If you feel as though you have settled for a less-than-stellar career, then chances are you have. And that’s totally okay, because now that you have acknowledged that, you can do something about it. Don’t fall victim to what’s already behind you. It happened — leave it there. Accept your past for leading you to where you are, then let it all go. If you want to venture out into the world and start living for you everyday, then you have to let go of any excuses that may hinder your progress. Starting today, put one foot ahead of the other and live with bold intention. Only you have the power to change your path.

Get Intentional

What does the perfect work day look like? What is the perfect workplace environment? What does a perfect company mission statement sound like? How can you push for, and be supported in, the advancement of your career? Set the intention to make every day match what you see in your mind. Go after a career that reflects that, or make your own! The possibilities are infinite, all you have to do is be really clear on what you want.

When you wake up every morning and know without a doubt what’s important to you, you become a fireball of forward motion and energy. You greet each moment with enthusiasm as you carve out the path that’s meant for you. You begin to realize that your career is merely an extension of who you are and suddenly it doesn’t feel like work anymore. Be intentional in what you want and watch as newfound opportunities seamlessly make their way to you.

Get savvy with your skills

Everyone is born with something that they are a natural at. Whether you call it gift or skill –it is tied directly to your passion. Find out where your passion lies and parlay it into your career. More than likely if you are supremely passionate about something, you would do it for free because that’s how much joy it brings to your life. What particular set of skills have you carried around with you effortlessly? When you bring awareness to what lights you up from the inside out, your new career will open up to you, and the payoff will follow. Ponder on your specific uniqueness then own it to no avail.

Getting to wake up everyday and lead the life you love is a luxury not many can say they have. You do not have to let this year slide by, just as bleak and repetitive as the last. You have the opportunity to go for what you want, starting now. As the old saying goes, if you don’t like something, change it! Go forth boldly into this new year knowing that you can create the future you’ve always dreamed of!
