Passionate Perusal: The Nonprofit Approach Week 2

Not long into my freshman year I made the decision to declare as a Management major with a concentration in Leadership and a minor in Nonprofit Organizations. To me, this was a perfect way of combining my skills set with a minor that reflected what I was passionate about.

A wonderful opportunity to get involved with nonprofits your freshman year is to participate in Service-Learning. The Bentley Service-Learning programs allow students to take what they are learning in the classroom and apply it some real-life situations. My Service-Learning experience has been assisting children with homework at two local Boys and Girls Clubs but there are tons of options to choose from to fit anyone’s personal tastes. Taking part in this opportunity that Bentley provides can give you first-hand experience with some nonprofits, build your network and see how things in the nonprofit world are operated.
