What do you do outside of class to develop your skills and experience as they relate to your major and career goals?
I’ve found some skills needed in the marketing field are customer service, the ability to work in groups, and multi-tasking and organization. Some things I am involved with on campus allow me to develop skills that I am able to translate into an internship or job. By working in the Office of Financial Assistance as well as being a Student Ambassador, I’ve been able to enhance my customer service and presentation skills. Being able to deal with people, both pleased and not, is key in this industry. Also, getting involved in organizations on campus is a great way to exhibit group work skills and commitment. Keeping busy, while remaining committed and involved, is a great way to show organization and participation to employers.
