What (if any) professional associations have you found beneficial in your career so far?
I have found the New Jersey Society of CPA’s (my home state society) to be extremely helpful in my career so far. I have made many valuable connections through the society that have provided me with opportunities I otherwise would not have been fortunate enough to have and have also received a scholarship to help fund my education. Most states have accounting societies that offer networking opportunities, professional development, job postings, and often times scholarship opportunities for students. There is also typically little or no cost for students to join the societies and reap the benefits of membership.
